It’s that time of year again when we reflect on the past and set our sights on the future. As I look back on the previous year, I am grateful for the lessons I have learned – some of them learned through the “hard-knock” school of struggles and challenges, but most of them learned through the unbridled sense of joy and appreciation for moments of wonder. We tend to think of lessons only in terms of the tougher experiences we’ve gone through (and, of course, that’s a valuable perspective to have as we try to make sense of those times). But this past year, our first in the return move to the US has brought with it some incredible new experiences. We got to travel quite a bit, made some wonderful new friends, and settled well into our new environment. And I’ve learnt some tremendous lessons through it all.
