    Overcoming Feelings of Un-Appreciation!

Whether you just happened to stumble upon this post or have come here from my Letters Of Lace series. Know that you are in the company of a good friend! There are seasons in life when our acts of service go unnoticed, when our kindness is accepted but not appreciated, when “thank you” and “I’m grateful” are phrases we hardly ever hear. In these seasons we feel a sense of meaninglessness – that who we are, and what we do doesn’t have real value. Perhaps you’re going through a season like this right now… Sometimes we wear a smile for the world. When in actual fact all we want to do is…

    An early morning hijack…

This all feels pretty clandestine, but I promise it is with good intentions! I am hijacking my incredible wife’s blog for a second because I have something quite precious to share with you – about her – that I know she would be far too modest to ever talk about. I’ll keep it brief, since she’ll be heading downstairs any second… Right now she is upstairs dressing the kids. Daisy is screaming “blue murder”, because she is sick and has become more clingy to her mom than a koala to a eucalyptus tree – so when mom is busy with the others and not holding her it means it’s the…

My Kids Say The Darnedest Things!

In the midst of crazy parenting days things can happen quite unexpectedly. And sometimes those things can throw us into uncontrollable fits of giggles. You know what I’m talking about… You’re doing your best to keep hold of your sanity, herding children like a troop of wild animals, trying to figure out how to discipline in the moment, when suddenly one of the wild animals realizes that you’re about to lose your head and does something so outrageously cute and funny you can’t help but burst out in laughter… Now sometimes these things can be quite gross as well… How on earth do kids come up with some of this…

Pappa, Thank You is Not Enough

So often, as a mother, I find myself running through my daily routine… focused like a well-trained sniper on the kids and all that needs to be done. In the hours of the day it’s all about who’s been fed, dressed, have you brushed you teeth, let’s do homework, tidy your rooms, etc… Has the house been cleaned, laundry done, appointments and deadlines met. (You get the point.) But then there comes this day – Father’s Day – and all of a sudden our focus needs to move to another person… Yup, that’s you Pappa. It’s then that we seem to “all of a sudden” think about all you do, and that’s sad,…

    Admitting it, is hard!

Sitting here… trying to think of something to write… (cue crickets chirping!) I am at a complete loss for words, without inspiration, I have absolutely no energy, or enthusiasm to put words to paper. I remember when I started this blog 5 months ago, I promised myself I would always “say it like it is”, be honest with my readers, open myself up and write. Well… As I’ve gotten more into this “blogging thing”, and realized how many people actually read what you write, I’ve found myself closing up. Not wanting to write about how I feel all the time. Embarrassed to have people look at me and remark… “shame, poor…

    I’m all Grown Now

Today is a big day for me… Both my boys have birthdays this week, they turn 5 & 6. It’s days like these that make me think about how they have grown. I look back on all their achievements, all they have accomplished, my heart beats big thuds of pride and I get a little teary when I think that their “baby days” are gone. It’s a big thing when a Mama realizes her little boys are growing into little men!
